Real Madrid have confirmed that Rodrygo Goes will miss the match due to a muscle injury in his right leg.
The Brazilian did not train on Friday after the injury suffered on Thursday, and his name has been added to the absence list for the trip to Valencia.
Los Blancos released a statement on Friday afternoon, following reports that Rodrygo was a doubt for the match at Mestalla, confirming the injury.
According to Cadena Cope, the injury will keep him out for around 10 days. This means Rodrygo will not face Valencia on Sunday night and is a doubt for the match against Real Sociedad next week.
In theory, he could play against Benfica in Lisbon, but he is suspended for that match.
The main goal is for him to be available to face Osasuna at "El Sadar" in just over two weeks.
This adds to the trouble for Alvaro Arbeloa as they prepare to face Carlos Corberan's team.
Rodrygo was scheduled to play on the left wing of the attack in place of Vinicius Junior, who is absent due to suspension.
Jude Bellingham is also recovering from a hamstring injury, meaning Real Madrid will be without three of their key strikers.
The Real Madrid coach has several other options, including moving Kylian Mbappe to the left wing, a position he usually occupied before arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Franco Mastantuono, Brahim Diaz and Gonzalo Garcia could play alongside him, while Arda Guler could be deployed on the right of an attacking three-quarter. They could also decide to change the formation, using a fourth midfielder and moving Fede Valverde into a wider role, as he often did under Carlo Ancelotti./Express newspaper/
