Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasizes that the development of the railway network in his country is one of the government's main priorities.
Among the various lines that are being reconstructed or built, Rama singled out the ambitious Durrës-Pristina railway project, which, according to him, is moving towards the concrete implementation phases.
"The feasibility study and preliminary design for the national railway, Durrës-Pristina, has been completed. In the last meeting with Prime Minister Kurti, we discussed the possibility of two foreign financings that will enable the advancement of the project," said Rama, Oranews Albania reports.
According to him, this line is expected to be integrated with European railway networks, respecting modern standards and aiming to electrify the planned 530-kilometer stretch.
Rama underlined that the project is part of a broader vision for the modernization of railway transport, which aims to connect Albania with the region and improve international connections.
The construction of this railway, he said, requires patience and extraordinary effort, but also the international reputation and economic stability that Albania has already gained.
Rama assured that the government has a clear and structured plan for the implementation of this strategic project, which will radically change regional mobility and transport.
