Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted, following the opposition's national protest, by condemning acts of violence and destruction of public property, while expressing solidarity with the police officers who were injured during the clashes.
Rama wrote on the social network X that protest is a democratic right, but organized violence has nothing in common with freedom of expression.
"There are protesters in Europe, anarchists, ecologists, right-wing and left-wing extremists, students, anti-globalists, hooligan fans, all sorts of groups that take to the streets for their own reasons, wear masks, arm themselves with Molotov cocktails and smash and burn, injuring police officers and destroying property," he wrote.
