The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, held a meeting today in Washington, DC, at the Bureau of South and Central European Affairs of the US Department of State, where he was hosted by Lyn Debevoise, Deputy Director for Western and Central European Affairs, as well as representatives of the Office of International Policy.
Through a post, Rama announced that during the meeting, the common positions and strong relations between the United States of America and the Republic of Kosovo were reconfirmed, with particular emphasis on Pristina.
"We reaffirmed our common positions and the exceptionally strong relations between the United States of America and the Republic of Kosovo, in particular Pristina," Rama wrote.
According to him, the discussions have included important political and institutional topics, such as political stability, the role of parliament and government, the process of electing the President, as well as the current challenges facing the country.
Special attention, as Rama emphasized, was paid to economic cooperation and the organization of the "American Investment Conference", which is expected to be held in Pristina during March.
On the other hand, according to Rama's announcement, Deputy Director Lyn Debevoise has reconfirmed the US commitment to supporting Kosovo's economic growth, guaranteeing the protection of American investments and advancing short-term economic progress and long-term regional objectives for the country's future.
