Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama called Viktor Orban, the Prime Minister of Hungary who will have to hand over power after 16 years following his defeat in yesterday's parliamentary elections, a good friend.
Rama said he had the pleasure of working with Orban.
"It has been a pleasure to work with Prime Minister Orban and witness the rapprochement of Albania and Hungary. I wish my good friend Viktor all the best in this new chapter of his life," he wrote in a post on X.
He then congratulated Hungary's next prime minister, Peter Magyar, who won the election convincingly.
"At the same time, I warmly congratulate Peter Magyar on his truly impressive victory. I wish the newly elected Prime Minister of Hungary every success in his great effort to open a new chapter for his country and I look forward to working together to bring our two countries even closer," Rama wrote.
