The Prosecutor of the Specialized Prosecution Office in The Hague, James Pache, tried to refute the testimonies of former senior Western state officials who testified in defense of the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
The prosecution said that "internationals had no knowledge" of the activities and intentions of Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selim and Jakup Krasniqi.
"Other defense witnesses, such as James Rubin, dismissed the KLA's public statements and statements as manipulation and propaganda," said prosecutor Pache.
He told the judges that they have "documents" as evidence, which, according to him, international witnesses either did not see or overlooked.
"Your Honor, what emerges is that the written evidence in this case is filled with documents that the defense witnesses did not have access to, or that they may have had access to but did not see, or that they simply overlooked."
