Prince Leka II has married Blerta Celibashi, the Albanian Royal Court announced through an official statement.
According to the announcement, the marriage was celebrated in a private ceremony, maintaining its intimate and solemn character.
The official photo released on this occasion was said to have been taken at Apponyi Castle in Slovakia.
"The selection of this historic setting, residence of the noble family of Her Majesty Queen Geraldine, was made to honor her precious heritage and Hungarian origin, which remains an inseparable part of the history of the Albanian Royal Family," the announcement states.
The Royal Court also announced that "after the marriage, Princess Blerta will retain the Zogu family surname and the title Princess of the Albanians."
"The Royal Family shares this joyful news with the Albanian nation and its friends around the world," the announcement reads.
