The Central Election Commission has issued a clarification regarding voters registered to vote by mail for the June 7 elections.
The CEC has announced that it has prepared a package with ballots for each registered voter who selected this voting method during registration and that so far a large number of them have been received by mail and will be sent to addresses in the coming days.
The CEC has clarified that registered voters are receiving SMS or e-mails from DHL informing them that each package has a tracking code, through which the voter can track the location of the shipment.
"Also, the notification sent by the economic operator gives voters the opportunity to choose to receive the delivery at their address or to collect it in person at the nearest DHL point," the notification concludes.
The CEC today decided that the postal voting process will begin four days earlier than planned, on May 21st.
"This change in deadline was made following the announcement by the postal services contractor that DHL and postal services in several European countries will not work on May 25, 2026 due to an official holiday and as a result, during the period May 22 - 26 there will be no delivery and receipt of shipments," the announcement states.
