The funeral ceremony of Diogo Jota and his brother was attended by many football stars - from Liverpool and the Portuguese national team - as well as many others.

However, Portugal has been shocked by the absence of its captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, who did not travel to Portugal to attend this funeral ceremony, writes "Gazeta Express".

The reasons for the absence are not yet officially known, but Portugal is concerned by reports from Spain.

According to the newspaper "Ultima Hora" from Mallorca via the "Daily Mail", it is said that Cristiano Ronaldo has been seen on vacation on the island, with his 5.5 million pound yacht.

"Cristiano Ronaldo has once again chosen Mallorca as his destination to enjoy his summer holidays," writes "Daily Mail", according to "Gazeta Express".

Ronaldo is a regular visitor to Mallorca during the summer, usually relaxing with his family in luxury villas or on his personal yacht. This year, however, his presence on the island has been accompanied by added emotion due to his absence from the funeral of his compatriot, Diogo Jota.

The Portuguese Football Federation confirmed that Ronaldo was not present at the funeral ceremony in Gondomar, while the player himself had expressed his public condolences on social media, calling the loss of Jota and his brother "senseless" and "painful."

On the day of Jota's death, Cristiano wrote on his Instagram:

"It doesn't make any sense. We were just together in the national team, you were just married."

To your family, to your wife and children, I send my condolences and wish you all the strength in the world. I know you will always be by their side.

Rest in peace, Diogo and André. We will all miss you.”/Express newspaper/
