Kosovo's Ambassador to Poland, Drilon Gashi, was invited to a show on Polish public media to speak after Kosovo's membership in the Peace Board, an initiative of President Trump.

Gashi stated there that Kosovo has "a stable place" in the international system and remains committed to a pro-European and transatlantic path.

The Polish journalist asked Gashi about Trump's initiative and the 'speed' with which Kosovo accepted the invitation to join, Gazeta Express reports.

Gashi described this action as strategic and symbolic.

"We think we have been a great beneficiary of international efforts for peace in our country and in our region," he said, adding that Kosovo can "serve as an example for countries abroad."

Regarding the Parliament's failure to ratify Kosovo's membership in this board, Gashi told Polish television that this is due to the post-election transition in Kosovo.

"This is expected to happen after the constitution of Parliament from the last December elections," he emphasized.

Gashi was asked by the journalist whether this would be approved by Parliament despite the non-declaration about membership by the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti.

"Can we expect this to be approved when the government is finally formed?" the journalist asked.

"We expect this in our political system, we have a hybrid system between the President and the Prime Minister, but foreign policy is led by the President."

Speaking about concerns about political instability, Gashi rejected the idea of a prolonged lockdown.

"Kosovo is much better than its reputation," he said, arguing that the recent elections produced a clear mandate for the formation of a government.

For the next government, Gashi said it will have immediate tasks ahead of it including approving the budget, ratifying international agreements, and electing a new president before March.

Regarding relations with Serbia, Gashi said that Kosovo's independence was "a fact" and "irreversible," despite Belgrade's continued rejection.

He added that Kosovo hoped for a more democratic Serbia rooted in the rule of law, calling it "a better neighbor" for the entire region.
