The police have made a statement regarding a serious incident that occurred in the early hours of the morning in Gjakova, where a person lost his life as a result of injuries sustained from a sharp object.
According to the official announcement, at around 02:20, after a dispute on "Mbretëresha Teutë" street, the victim, an adult, was attacked by another person, also an adult, who is currently on the run.
Initially, the injured person was sent for treatment to the QKMF, and then transferred to the General Hospital in Gjakova, where unfortunately he did not survive his wounds and died.
Police units immediately responded to the scene and, in consultation with the State Prosecutor, the case was opened as a “murder.” Meanwhile, authorities are conducting intensive investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident and apprehend the suspect.
"Today, in the early hours of the morning, we were informed that an adult person was sent for medical treatment as a result of injuries caused by a sharp instrument. He was initially taken to the QKMF and then to the General Hospital in Gjakova, where he died. Based on initial investigations, it is suspected that at around 02:20 after a dispute on "Mbretëresha Teutë" street in Gjakova, the victim was attacked by a person, also of adult age, who is on the run. The competent police units immediately went to the scene and, in consultation with the State Prosecutor, a "murder" case was initiated. All necessary operational and investigative actions are currently being taken to fully clarify the circumstances of this event."
