Kosovo Police, through a press release, announced that they have arrested today a person suspected of the criminal offense of "attempted murder", an arrest related to the case of March 6, when a person was admitted to the Mitrovica hospital in North with wounds inflicted by a sharp instrument, Express writes.
After identifying the suspect's location, the police went to the same location and encountered the suspect. According to the report, the suspect attempted to flee from the police, but was caught by the officers.
"Also, after police actions, the location of one of the suspects was identified. The police went to that location, where they encountered the suspect and arrested him. The suspect attempted to flee, but was arrested. His arrest was made at the address of his family in the city of North Mitrovica," the Police statement said.
During a search of his family's apartment in North Mitrovica, weapons, drugs, cartridges, T-shirts with Cyrillic inscriptions, and a sum of dinars were found.
The suspect was escorted to the police station, where in the presence of his defense attorney he exercised his right to remain silent. The arrested person, BI (2000), was taken into custody for 48 hours by order of the state prosecutor.
Meanwhile, two other people suspected of being involved in the case are still on the run.

On 06.03.2026, at around 21:20, the Police in the North received information from the Mitrovica Regional Hospital - North that a person was admitted for medical treatment with wounds caused by a sharp instrument.
According to the report, the incident occurred on “Anri Dinan” Street. It is suspected that the incident occurred after a verbal dispute regarding a rental. Then, according to the suspicions, three people got out of a car with foreign license plates, initially beat the victim and then one of the suspects stabbed him with a sharp object (suspectedly a knife) four times in the left leg and once in the stomach, causing bodily injuries.
The police, based on rapid operational actions, managed to identify the location of the vehicle used by the suspects, which was parked near the scene of the incident and was subsequently seized by the police.
Also, after police actions, the location of one of the suspects was identified. The police went to that location, where they encountered the suspect and arrested him. The suspect attempted to flee, but was arrested. His arrest was made at the address of his family in the city of North Mitrovica.
During the search of the apartment, the police also found the sharp instrument (knife) that was suspected to have been used in the case. The police also found the following weapons and narcotic substances:
• one (1) AK-47 long gun
• 34 7.62 mm caliber cartridges
• one (1) magazine with 29 rounds of 7.62 mm caliber
• one (1) box of 15 7.62 mm caliber cartridges
• one (1) M-75 hand grenade
• one (1) bulletproof vest
• two (2) shock bombs
• one (1) torch
• two (2) knives
• one (1) scale
• narcotic plant
• one (1) grinding mill
• nylon bags and foil bags
• one (1) cigarette suspected of being marijuana
• T-shirts with Cyrillic inscriptions
• as well as a sum of money from the state of Serbia.
Explosive ordnance disposal units also arrived at the scene, removing the explosive devices in a controlled manner.

In this case, it is suspected that two other people were also involved, who have not been found at the moment and are on the run, but the police are working to arrest them.
The state prosecutor has been notified of all actions taken, who has ordered the initiation of criminal charges against the arrested person for: "Attempted murder", "Unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons", as well as "Unauthorized purchase, possession, distribution and sale of narcotics, psychotropic and analogous substances".
