Pet owners store more photos of themselves than of their partners or family, according to a recent survey that shows that the phone gallery often reflects what people value most.

The study, conducted with 2,000 people, reveals that the average owner has about 20% more photos of their pets – whether dogs, cats or other – compared to those of their partner or relatives. On average, about 176 photos of animals are stored on the phone, while only 147 of their partner, 65 of their parents and 57 of close friends.

According to the data, the Millennial generation leads with the highest number of animal photos (an average of 217), followed by Gen Z with 204, while Boomers have significantly fewer, with about 103 photos.

Nearly half of respondents (46%) see photography as a way to express love, while four in ten believe that the phone gallery is a clear indicator of emotional priorities.

For most, revisiting these photos brings feelings of joy, nostalgia, and warmth. In the last month alone, owners have added an average of 20 new photos of their pets, while 14% admit to taking photos every day.

About 69% of them already use filters or smart tools to enhance images, while a significant portion also shares these photos on social networks. According to the survey, 48% have noticed that posts with animals receive more reactions than any other content.

In the end, over half of the participants (52%) consider their pet a full member of the family – one more reason why it occupies a central place in daily memories and in the phone gallery. /GazetaExpress/
