The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, together with municipal directors, paid homage at the statue of the hero Zahir Pajaziti in the square of the same name, on the occasion of marking the KLA Epic. He emphasized the role and sacrifice of the Kosovo Liberation Army on the path to freedom and independence of the country.

After the tributes, Rama said that Kosovo owes him the freedom that Kosovo has today.

"Today we are here at "Zahir Pajaziti" Square, at the monument of our national hero, Zahir Pajaziti. We are now in the process of paying homage. It was earlier also at the martyrs of the hero where we showed our respect for all that our national martyrs and heroes have done for freedom, for democracy, for the independence that we enjoy today as a country, as a state, that have made it possible for us to plan our future ourselves and not someone else for us. As a result, we are forever, for life, indebted to you for all that they have given, for all that we enjoy today. And together with our team from the capital here, with the office that we have created especially for the respect and elevation of the values of the Kosovo Liberation Army, so also all the processes that have to do with the epic of the KLA, the Kosovo Liberation Army", said Rama.

Rama said that the sacrifice of the KLA resulted in Kosovo's independence.

"Today we are in a sign of respect for our history, for the past to respect, appreciate and build a better future for our country. After that, we will also go to Prekaz, together with the team, to pay homage there to the legendary family of the legendary commander Adem Jashari, as a sign of respect for everything he has given, for the sacrifice of his life and his entire family, of 59 members, and as a result, I said, of the emancipation of our people and the just war of the Kosovo Liberation Army that has resulted in the independence of the Republic of Kosovo," Rama further emphasized.

Meanwhile, the president of the association of martyrs' families, Naser Pacolli, said that there is no proper investment in the martyrs' cemeteries.

"Today, on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the epic of the Kosovar soldier, together with the municipality, the municipal institutions of Pristina, we were in honor of our martyrs and heroes. We have inherited this agenda since 1998 when the exercise of Adem Jashari united us and today and that day we commemorate with the highest honors all the martyrs and heroes who fell in all the places of our lands. No, unfortunately... unfortunately not enough has been done. Even today when we are talking, we have, that is, unfinished complexes of martyrs' cemeteries, we have martyrs who have not yet been transferred to martyrs' complexes, we have about 1500 missing whose fate is still unknown. So I encourage the institutions to unite this goal, to unite the values for which the martyrs and all the fallen have given to create these institutions and to join forces and move the countries forward", Pacolli said./EO/
