He praised the sacrifice and resilience of the people of Kosovo, as well as the role of the Kosovo Liberation Army in achieving this historic goal.
The Speaker of the Assembly emphasized that the Republic of Kosovo, although a new state, has transformed into a democratic state and a factor of stability in the region, taking its place in the community of democratic countries. He also underlined the decisive support of the United States of America, NATO and the European Union, who lined up on the side of justice and freedom.
In this context, Peleshi expressed concern about the legal proceedings against former leaders of the liberation war, emphasizing that justice for them is directly related to the justice of the Kosovo cause itself. He also recalled the February 13 Declaration of the Albanian Parliament in support of Kosovo and its liberation war, describing this stance as a moral, historical and national obligation.
Speaking about relations between Albania and Kosovo, the Speaker of the Parliament emphasized that they are fraternal relations and a strategic partnership, based on history, sacrifices and shared aspirations for Euro-Atlantic integration.
