Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reacted through a post on X regarding the recent developments in the Strait of Hormuz, praising the decision to suspend "Project Freedom" as an important step towards reducing tensions and strengthening peace in the region.
"I am grateful to Donald Trump for his courageous leadership and timely announcement regarding the suspension of Project Freedom in the Strait of Hormuz.
His kind response to the request made by Pakistan and other friendly countries, especially Saudi Arabia and my beloved brother, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, will significantly contribute to advancing regional peace, stability and reconciliation during this sensitive period.
"Pakistan remains fully committed to supporting all efforts that promote restraint and a peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy. We are very hopeful that the current momentum will lead to a lasting agreement that guarantees long-term peace and stability for the region and beyond."
