The famous actor, Orlando Bloom, has undergone treatment in the last 24 hours, in order to cleanse his blood of microplastics and toxic substances.
The 48-year-old revealed this himself through a post on his Instagram profile. Bloom chose a clinic in London, which promises that for a fee of 11,800 euros he can eliminate both microplastics and toxic substances from the human body.
The actor even posted a photo of himself during the procedure, which resembles a blood draw, publicly thanking Clarify Clinics.
However, scientists are skeptical of the clinic's claim, insisting that there is no reliable evidence to support its claims.
In the process used by the British clinic, blood is separated into red blood cells and plasma. According to David Cohen, the inventor of the process, this plasma is cleaned with the help of a machine of “chemicals, microplastics, inflammation, toxins and poisons” and then mixed back with the red blood cells and returned to the body. Clinics
Clarify are the first in the world to offer this service, which is called Clari, claiming to remove between 90 and 99% of microplastics from the blood.
The clinic claims that the procedure, which is not covered by the UK's National Health Service (NHS), reduces inflammation in the body, which has been linked to cancer and neurological disorders.
Scientists have found microplastics, defined as pieces of plastic smaller than 5mm, in human blood, organs and even the brain. However, there is little evidence to conclusively prove that these particles cause direct harm to the body or that filtering them out offers health benefits.
