Orges Arifi has secured a medal for Albania at the European Karate Championship, which is being held in Yerevan, Armenia.
The karateka from Kosovo has qualified for the finals of this competition in the up to 60 kilogram category, writes "Gazeta Express".
Arifi, who was once part of Kosovo, defeated Bosnian Kenan Siljak in the semifinals to secure at least the European silver medal.
In the final, Arifi will face Russian Akhmed Akhmedov, who in the semifinals defeated Kosovar karateka Islam Selmani, who will now seek the bronze medal on Saturday.
For his part, Orges Arifi will try to win the gold medal as he is already certain of silver as a finalist.
