A man tried to encourage garbage workers to pick up more trash by leaving them drinks and cookies with a note, but the workers' reaction was harsh.
We’ve all encountered the problem of our rubbish or recycling bins being overfilled – whether it’s after Christmas, a birthday or a house move. Many local councils have very strict rules about waste collection, including the rule that if the bin lid is not fully closed, the waste will not be collected.
Some employees are more lenient and may pick up the mowers even if the lid is slightly open, or may even pick up extra trash placed next to the mower. But this does not always happen, as some employees strictly follow the rules.
A man, posting on the Reddit community R/CasualUK, decided to take the risk: he filled his general and recycling bins and left a note for the employees.
The note was accompanied by two cans of Monster and a package of Foxes Choc Chunk Cookies, with the caption: "Drinks + snacks for you! Can you take both bags? Both are common trash (I promise)."
If you don't ask you don't get right?

The author of the post said: “If you don’t ask, you don’t get, right? I set the scythes tonight for tomorrow morning – I might set an alarm to see how the story goes! You have to show gratitude.”
The post received thousands of upvotes and hundreds of comments, while a few hours later, the author provided an update: he saw the scythe workers reading the note before making their decision.
He wrote: "They didn't get the second yogurt or the snacks. I saw them from the window - of course they read the note."
Once again, hundreds of users praised his attempt to convince the scythe workers, while others claimed they knew the outcome in advance.
One commenter wrote: “As I suspected, Kosova employees have total integrity and cannot be corrupted.”
Another added: "My folks haven't picked up my trash can in over a month. It's at the edge of my property with the lid closed. I've made two complaints. I was thinking snacks, but after this post I'm completely lost. What do these people want?"
A third commented: "They saw your previous post and decided to be strict. Where there are snacks, there will be more snacks. They will wait."
A fourth noted: "You tried, fair play. I love these posts, it's like a modern Eastenders." /GazetaExpress/
