Croatian football legend Luka Modrić is officially a Milan player, having signed a one-year contract as a free agent with an option to extend until the summer of 2027.
The Croatian midfielder had agreed personal terms last month, but waited until the end of his Club World Cup commitments with Real Madrid to finalise the transfer.
Modrić arrived in Milan this morning to undergo medical tests with the club and local authorities, before putting his signature on the contract.
He will wear the number 14 shirt at San Siro.
Modrić turns 40 in September, but he is still a respected and in-form figure at the highest level of football. With 188 caps for Croatia and 597 official appearances for Real Madrid during 13 glorious years in Spain, he is one of the greatest midfielders of the modern era.

Milan becomes the fourth club in Modrić's career after Dinamo Zagreb, Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid.
