Defender Álvaro Carreras has officially joined Spanish club Real Madrid from Benfica, the Madrid club announced on Monday.
The 22-year-old Spaniard has signed a six-year contract, which will keep him at Los Blancos until June 30, 2031.
Carreras is a product of Real Madrid's youth academy, where he played in the cadet and youth categories between 2017 and 2020.
He joined Benfica from Manchester United after being named the English club's U23 Player of the Year for the 2021–2022 season.
With Benfica, he won the Portuguese League Cup this year.
Real Madrid also announced that Carreras' official presentation will take place on Tuesday at the club's training complex./Express newspaper/
