Despite long-standing interest from Barcelona, the Catalan club has remained cautious and has not made any direct moves until Nico himself takes the first step.
And this step has already happened: Williams has met in person with Barcelona's sporting director, Deco, to express his interest in transferring to the Camp Nou.
