A gun and ammunition supplier for the western film "Rust" has filed a lawsuit against Alec Baldwin, the producers and other members of the film crew, claiming he was unfairly blamed for a fatal shooting that occurred on set four years ago.
In a lawsuit filed in a New Mexico court, Seth Kenney, owner of PDQ Arm & Prop, claims that Baldwin and other defendants wrongfully held him liable for the accidental death of filmmaker Halyne Hutchins and the injury of director Joel Souza on October 21, 2021, NBC News writes, reports Indeksonline.
According to allegations in a lawsuit filed last week, Kenney claims the defendants used him to distract from their responsibilities.
"The defendants, individually and collectively, sought to distance themselves from the criminal investigation into the film Rust. As a result, they conspired to portray me and my company as the 'victim' in a nationwide smear campaign," the document states.
