Gjakova has been shaken by a murder that occurred in the early hours of today. As a result of gunfire, one person was killed and another was injured.
The Director of the Regional Police Directorate in Gjakova, Lumni Graishta, while confirming the case, indicated that an owner of a bar in the Old Bazaar in Gjakova is suspected of having shot a customer after a dispute, leaving him dead.
He said that the suspect is a known name to the police, while he is still on the run.
"The murder is suspected to have occurred at around 05:20 in a bar in the Old Bazaar in Gjakova. According to initial information, it is suspected that the owner of a bar, after a dispute with a customer, used a firearm, in which case one person died at the scene (whose death was determined by the medical team at the scene) while another injured person was taken to the regional hospital for further medical treatment," Graishta told Reporteri.
He further says that the Police are searching for the suspect, who is on the run.
"The suspect (currently on the run) is known to the police and police units are searching for him. All relevant units are at the scene, carrying out the necessary legal procedures under the close supervision of the Chief State Prosecutor," he said.
