Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday that Israel supports Donald Trump's decision to impose a naval blockade on Iran and that Tel Aviv is coordinating with Washington on the situation, AFP reports.
"Iran has violated the rules (of the peace talks in Pakistan), President Trump made the decision to impose a naval blockade," Netanyahu said at a government meeting, according to a video statement released by his office.
"We, of course, support this strong stance and are in constant coordination with the United States," he said.
US Central Command said it will begin a blockade of all Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf and coastal areas on Monday at 10:00 ET (17:30 in Iran and 14:00 GMT), effectively taking control of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
