SSC Napoli suffered a major blow to their Serie A title race after being held to a 1-1 draw by Parma Calcio 1913 at the Stadio Ennio Tardini. The result leaves the Neapolitans six points behind the leaders, ahead of Inter Milan's clash with Como 1907.
After their win over AC Milan, Napoli travelled to Parma looking to put pressure on the leaders, but the home team surprised them from the start. Just a minute into the game, Gabriel Strefezza made it 1-0, after taking advantage of a quick move that started with a long ball and sending the ball into the net with a precise shot.
The first half was dominated by Napoli in possession, but without clear scoring chances. At moments when the team needed a leader, Scott McTominay appeared, equalizing the score in the 60th minute after a beautiful action built by Stanislav Lobotka and Rasmus Højlund.
However, Napoli failed to overturn the deficit despite numerous attempts. McTominay also tried a spectacular low shot, while substitute Alisson Santos came close to scoring but was unsuccessful.
In extra time, goalkeeper Zion Suzuki made a crucial save for Parma, securing a valuable point for his team and leaving Napoli in a difficult position in the title race.
The team led by Antonio Conte must now hope for a false step from Inter in order to keep their hopes of defending the "Scudetto" alive. /GazetaExpress/
