Napoli are reportedly ready to offer Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa a much longer-term contract than initially planned, until June 2029, to put to rest speculation over a possible transfer.
It had previously been suggested that he could leave this summer, as his current contract expires in June 2026. There was strong interest from clubs such as Fenerbahçe, Besiktas and Al-Qadsiyah, but they backed out due to Napoli's €30m demand.
This situation made Napoli realize the importance of Anguissa to their midfield after the Scudetto triumph and propose a new contract until 2027.
Now, according to Il Mattino and Tuttomercatoweb, the situation has changed again, as the player and his representatives were not convinced by that offer. They want his future to be more secure, so they would only be willing to sign if the contract is extended until June 2029.
This would also allow him to accept a lower salary, spreading the cost over more seasons. The Cameroonian midfielder contributed six goals and five assists in 37 official matches last season, helping Napoli win their second Serie A title in three years./Express newspaper/
