Republican Congressman from Tennessee, Tim Burchett, a member of the House Oversight Committee, has openly accused NASA of "lying" about UFOs (UAPs - unidentified aerial phenomena).
He claims that the federal agency possesses classified files on extraterrestrial craft and that he has attended meetings where NASA officials have accepted these studies, but cannot share them with the public.
In an interview with One America News (OAN) and the Matt Gaetz show, Burchett said: “The lies in these departments… NASA says ‘we don’t have anything’ or ‘we haven’t studied this.’ But I’ve been in meetings with them, where they told me they have studied and they have classified material that they can’t share.”
On the lack of new whistleblowers, he added: “I think they are afraid of being ‘disappeared’… I think they are afraid of being killed. Some are really afraid because of what they have seen.”
NASA responded by sending a tweet to X from its spokesperson, Bethany Stevens: “We continue to make all of our data public and welcome public participation. As the Administrator has said, there are things he doesn’t explain… but they have more to do with expensive programs than extraterrestrial life.”
Burchett has long been a supporter of UFO detection. He claims that “non-human” intelligence operates from 5–6 underwater bases off the US coast, that the Pentagon is hiding “non-human” technology, and that the Department of Defense is spending money on it without undergoing audits.
He said he spoke to President Donald Trump this week about being “open” and getting the information out. Trump on February 19, 2026, ordered federal agencies to begin releasing files on UFOs, UAPs, and extraterrestrial life. Secretary of Defense (now the Department of War) Pete Hegseth confirmed that they are working on it: “We are digging, we will be in full compliance with the executive order… we will see if aliens exist.”
Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna (Florida), who leads the group for the declassification of UAPs, said the documents will be placed on the website of the US National Archives.
Just days after Burchett's interview, the White House registered the domain aliens.gov (and alien.gov) on March 17–18, 2026, according to the official .gov registry (managed by CISA). The site is not yet live, but the registration has fueled widespread speculation of an imminent reveal. The White House has not provided details about the purpose.
Burchett's allegations come at a time when the debate over UAPs has intensified, with congressional hearings and allegations of secret government programs. Despite the dramatic claims, neither the Pentagon nor NASA have admitted to verifiable evidence of extraterrestrial technology or beings to date. Speculation continues – and "aliens.gov" remains a new mystery! /GazetaExpress/
