Hysen Muzliukaj, who for his work as director of the Cadastre in the Municipality of South Mitrovica was suspected of abuse of office or official authority, was appointed on Friday by the Government of Kosovo as director general of the Kosovo Institute for Public Administration.
Muzliukaj, when asked about this issue, refused to provide details regarding his appointment or the case in which he and the former deputy mayor of South Mitrovica, Faruk Mujka, are being investigated by the Special Prosecution Office.
"In the coming days, we will also deal with this topic. You address the Court as to where the process is. I have told you from day one that there is nothing in that process, and it remains that way," Muzliukaj declared to Kallxo.com when asked about his appointment and whether he is still under investigation.
But sources within the Kosovo Special Prosecution Office have told KALLXO.com that Hysen Muzliukaj is under investigation.
Muzliukaj was arrested in a special police operation in 2023 on suspicion of corruption while working in the Municipality of Mitrovica. Following the arrest, the Minister of Agriculture, Faton Peci, dismissed Muzliukaj from his position as an advisor.
Although he was arrested, Muzliukaj's lawyer announced his client's release the next day.
