Bashkim Mustafa, a university professor and economics expert, said on EURO n'T7 that what the Kurti Government has done with the distribution of 100 euros is this government's medieval approach to buying votes.
Mustafa recalled that this is not the first time that this government, without any analysis and in the most unscrupulous manner, makes such decisions on the eve of elections.
"You enter the election campaign and you have no success for six years in a row, you have no capital project to be proud of, you have no evidence that you have influenced economic development. In fact, it is quite the opposite, because we have the lowest rate of economic development in the region, the highest unemployment rate in the region, the highest poverty rate in the region and the highest migration. It is normal that now you come out with such decisions, because you have nothing to compete with in the elections and this, among other things, is a misuse of official position and authority, as well as vote buying in a medieval way, in the lowest possible way," Mustafa said.
Mustafa further said that with these decisions, the Kurti Government is playing with the dignity of the most vulnerable categories of citizens, because in six years of its governance it has done nothing to improve their socio-economic situation.
"The wrong policies of this government have further deepened the poverty of citizens, where today over 10% of citizens live in extreme poverty, with less than two dollars a day. What happened today is proving that citizens are in a deep economic and social crisis," Mustafa added.
