The acting Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, has reacted harshly to the Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama.
Rama is accusing the Kosovo Government of blocking the budget of the Municipality of Pristina.
But Murat says this is not true – he even tells Rama to ask the LDK to vote for the constitution of the Kosovo Assembly.
"Përparim Rama has lied again when he accused the Government of blocking the budget of the Municipality of Pristina. What is the truth? The municipal budget must be approved by the municipal assembly no later than September 30th so that it can then become part of the Budget Law, which the Government sends to the Parliament no later than October 31st."
"The Municipality of Pristina failed to approve the budget either on September 30 or even on October 31. Rama's Progress, namely the Pristina Municipal Assembly, approved the municipal draft budget on December 9, i.e. after all legal deadlines. This delay means that for the municipal draft budget to enter into force, an amendment/supplementation of the Budget Law by the Assembly is needed. As you know, the Assembly has been blocked for months by the opposition, which is violating the Constitution by not voting."
"Only after the Assembly is constituted and the New Government is elected, can the amendment/revision of the Budget Law be initiated to include the draft budget of the Municipality of Pristina. The more false accusations are made, the easier it is for Përparim Rama to ask his party, the LDK, to fulfill its constitutional obligation and vote for the constitution of the Assembly, so that the amendment of the Budget Law with the budget of the Municipality of Pristina can then be made possible," Murati wrote on Facebook. /Gazeta Express
