Mohamed Salah has reacted with pain and shock after the tragic news of the passing of his Liverpool teammate, Diogo Jota, and the latter's brother, Andre Silva.
The Egyptian striker, who has shared the field and locker room with Jota for years, shared an emotional message on social media.
"I'm truly at a loss for words," Salah wrote. "Until yesterday, I never thought there would be anything that would stop me from returning to Liverpool after the break."
His reaction reflects the pain of a man who has lost not only a teammate, but a friend and part of the second family that is built between players within a team.
"Teammates come and go, but not like this. It will be extremely difficult to accept that Diogo will not be there (at Liverpool) when we return. My thoughts and heart are with his wife, his children and of course his parents who suddenly lost their sons," Salah concluded.
