The Minister of Health, Azir Aliu, yesterday participated in the establishment of the Pan-Albanian College of Surgeons (KPShK), which was held in Tirana, in the Republic of Albania.
In his speech to the surgeons present from Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the USA and other countries, Minister Aliu emphasized that with this professional organization, new bridges of cooperation are being established between institutions and different generations of surgeons, connecting this humane profession with its noble goal of patient safety and dignity.
"Surgery is a field that requires high standards, because it is often a matter of life or death. Therefore, the establishment of the CPSC is important not only for the surgical community, but also for the ministries of health and public health systems throughout the region. Any initiative that raises standards, strengthens continuing education, enables the exchange of good practices and builds professional networks means reducing risks, increasing quality and increasing trust in the health system", said Minister Aliu in his speech.
He assessed that the establishment of the college is the result of serious and long-term work, as well as a continuation of successful regional experiences, creating real opportunities for mentoring, exchange of experiences, joint training programs and building a common culture of quality in surgery.
"When professionals unite through such organizations around common standards, then one can expect that health policies will be more realistic and more implementable. I believe that this college will become a platform for joint training, exchange of specialists, structured mentoring, simulation training and academic cooperation between universities and clinics. At the same time, I expect that this cooperation will become a powerful and sustainable mechanism for cross-border cooperation, consultations and coordination", emphasized the Minister of Health, Azir Aliu, adding that health is an area where policy should be more responsible, because every decision directly affects human life.
