La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri met with executive director Giorgio Furlani on Friday to discuss the club's future plans.
According to the report, Furlani met with Allegri at a lunch after the morning training session at Milanello.
The meeting comes after weeks of speculation about Allegri's future at Milan, with reliable sources, including Corriere dello Sport, reporting that the Tuscan coach is unhappy with some parts of the management.
The Rossoneri are currently third in Serie A and are in a good position to secure a place in the UEFA Champions League, especially after Como's 2-1 away defeat to Sassuolo on Friday.
Allegri expects some major reinforcements in the summer if Milan qualify for the Champions League and, according to Gazzetta, the club is ready to meet the coach's demands.
According to the report, Milan agree that the team needs a top-level striker, a major reinforcement in central defense and a new central midfielder.
The newspaper adds that club leaders are even open to Allegri having a greater role in decision-making and hope to hold more meetings with the Tuscan coach to plan the future.
Allegri's contract with Milan expires in 2027, but there is a clause that allows for an extension until 2028. Recently, he has also been mentioned as one of the candidates to replace Gennaro Gattuso at the head of the Italy national team.
