Former Kosovar diplomat Lulzim Peci, currently director of the Kosovar Institute for Policy Research and Development (KIPRED), states that the incumbent government's threat to withhold the budget from municipalities is interference in the election campaign and an attempted robbery of taxpayers' money.
Lulzim Peci writes on his FB profile:
The threat/blackmail of (non)granting the budget to municipalities by the "caretaker government", apart from constituting a flagrant interference in the election campaign, can at best be said to be an "attempted robbery" of Kosovo taxpayers' money and an attempt to install an arbitrary centralization of power in our country.
All of this that is happening, especially after the February 9 elections, constitutes the practical implementation of a non-Ahtisaari "material constitution" with a deep democratic deficit in Kosovo!
And everything that's happening is unlikely to stop there!
