The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup ultimately went to Chelsea, after a brilliant performance by the English team, which convincingly defeated Luis Enrique's PSG with a score of 3–0.
But after the final whistle, the final was marred by an embarrassing episode involving the Spanish coach and Chelsea striker Joao Pedro.

In an unacceptable and rarely seen act at this level, Luis Enrique attempted to grab Joao Pedro by the throat, knocking the player to the ground, who was seen injured and in pain from the collision.
Although the shot was not fully executed, it was enough to partially touch the Chelsea striker's face, who immediately fell to the ground.
The situation escalated for a moment, but the immediate reaction of players and staff from both teams helped to calm tensions. Luis Enrique left the scene of the incident, while Joao Pedro received first aid on the pitch.
On the sporting front, Chelsea were declared champions of this historic edition of the Club World Cup. The London team closed the match in the first half, with two brilliant goals from Cole Palmer, who was declared the “Superior Player of the Match”, and another from Joao Pedro.
PSG, despite losing in the final, showed quality and high level throughout the tournament, being one of the main contenders until the end. However, the trophy this time went to England./Express newspaper/
