Several Liverpool players arrived in Portugal last night and visited the "Resurrection Chapel" in Gondomar, where the bodies of Diogo Jota and his brother were laid to rest.
Virgil van Dijk, Alexis MacAllister, Andy Robertson, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Wataru Endo and Federico Chiesa were among the group who were greeted with applause from local residents as they walked through the streets.
Coach Arne Slot was also seen among those present.
Several former Reds stars also travelled to pay their respects to Jota, including former captain Jordan Henderson and Brighton midfielder James Milner.
Jota and his brother died in a car accident near the Spanish province of Zamora in the early hours of Thursday.
The incident occurred at around 00:30 local time, according to a statement from Spain's Guardia Civil.
Jota had been advised not to travel by plane after a minor surgical procedure, so he was travelling by car to catch the ferry that would take him back to England, where he was expected to begin preparations for the new season on Monday./Express newspaper/
