LEGO has officially launched the new Smart Play sets, bringing a whole new dimension to these famous bricks.
The company is getting a lot “smarter.” Earlier this year, the popular toy brand announced the launch of several new sets that use Smart Brick technology.
This brings the toys to life with interactive lights and sounds that change as you play. It's a pretty clever thing, with the Smart Brick interacting with Smart Tags and Smart Minifigures, offering different effects depending on the set.
For example, place the Smart Brick on Darth Vader's new toy, and you'll hear his famous voice during battles. Move the Smart Brick to Luke's Red Five X-Wing, and it emits laser and R2D2 sounds in the background.
Smart Bricks can even interact with each other, allowing fans to create explosive duels.
LEGO has designed everything to be about play, so there's no need for apps or a smartphone to get started. Smart Bricks are also rechargeable, meaning you don't have to worry about batteries.
If this sounds interesting to you, the new sets are now available to buy, with stores like Argos and LEGO offering them.
At launch, there are three complete Smart Brick sets, which include everything needed to play, and five other sets that are simply compatible with Smart Brick technology. /GazetaExpress/
