Britpop legends Oasis will take to the Principality stage in Cardiff, Wales, kicking off their long-awaited reunion tour.

The British rock band's return after a 16-year hiatus is a significant moment for fans, who are excited to see Noel and Liam Gallagher back together, although bets have begun to be placed on them staying together throughout the tour.

After 19 concerts in the United Kingdom and Ireland, come stops in North and South America, Asia and Australia, ending in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on November 23.

Formed on the working-class streets of Manchester in 1991, Oasis released their debut album, 'Definitely Maybe', in 1994 and became one of the dominant British bands of the 1990s.

Oasis finally split in 2009, with Noel Gallagher leaving the band after a backstage altercation with Liam at a festival near Paris.

The Gallagher brothers, now 58 and 52, have not performed together since, although both regularly play Oasis songs at their solo concerts.

They resisted pressure to reunite for a long time, even with the promise of a salary of several million dollars.

Now they have agreed to a tour where they will be joined by former Oasis members Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs and Gem Archer on guitar, bassist Andy Bell and drummer Joey Waronker.

Tickets for the UK concerts sold out within hours, with some quickly being offered on resale websites for up to £6,000. More than 50,000 tickets were cancelled by the band because they were sold on unofficial platforms.
