The Kosovar judoka has qualified for the quarterfinals of this competition, in the up to 63 kilogram category.
In the third round, or the eighth of the final, Fazliu eliminated Italian Carlotta Avanzato with Ippon.
Previously, Fazliu passed the first round without a fight, while in the second he defeated the Polish Natalia Kropska, also by Ippon.
In the quarterfinals, Fazliu will face Brazilian Rafaela Silva.
Laura, who is returning from a nagging injury, aims to win a medal at this World Cup.
