The famous singer, Labinot Tahiri, has revealed that his desire was to run as an independent MP for the June 7 elections, but the deadline closed the day before.
He said that there were many requests from citizens to run for deputy in the Kosovo Assembly.
Labi mentioned several topics that he would address in the Kosovo Assembly, mentioning the fight against drugs, negative phenomena and the issue of health medicines.
Lab's post:
Dear people and voters of Kosovo and everywhere as Albanians, please read this article where I wanted to present the MPs for you as a constant SERVANT.
I wanted to run as an independent MP in these elections, but unfortunately the deadline closed yesterday.
I had planned to run after many requests from citizens, but there are still people who are afraid of competition and forget that politics is not a personal competition. When you are part of a party or a political competition, you should be there to serve the people and the country, not yourself.
I don't need a political career, I have that more than politics, because thank God I have built my life and my name with hard work and sweat. I have had and still have the courage to challenge myself and my career because I built it with God and you. But my heart has always told me to serve this country as a servant of the people, subject only to the citizen and Kosovo, and not to personal interests!!
Labi has not served just one person, one city or one category, but everyone without distinction, maybe you have not forgotten!!! I have stood by you in causes for leukemia, cancer, health, the army, The Hague for the liberators, doctors, professors, youth, police and many other categories of this country. I have done this because I feel like a servant of my country, nothing more, even though God has given me fame and respect from the people.
Don't forget, I earn over 1 million euros a year and I am among the biggest taxpayers in the Albanian entertainment industry. From what I have earned, I have always tried to give to the people and to my country. But my soul hurts that I was not lucky enough to be a soldier during the war for freedom, so I feel a moral obligation to contribute my whole life to Kosovo.
I wanted to run as an independent candidate to serve you in medicine, hospitals, in the fight against drugs and the negative phenomena that are destroying our youth. I don't know how much you would have loved Labin in Parliament, but one day I will be there and you will see that a deputy can do a lot for the people, only if he sincerely loves the citizen as his own family.
I wish success to all candidates and pray that those who work for the interests of the people and Kosovo will win.
May God bless Kosovo, our Albanian lands, and our diaspora everywhere in the world.
