The continuation of the session for the election of the President has begun with the opening words of the Speaker of Parliament Albulena Haxhiu, who once again called on opposition MPs to participate in this session.

She mentioned "obligations" that she said they have to vote and enable the election of the President.

The ruling party's MPs gathered again this morning in the Assembly for the second round of voting for the President, despite the fact that there were not 80 MPs in the hall and despite the fact that this procedure, which began last night, was considered a violation of the country's constitutional order by experts on the Constitution and non-governmental organizations.

Haxhiu postponed the continuation of the session until 14:00 PM, inviting opposition MPs to participate in the session, as according to her, they are obliged to vote and enable the election of the President.

Last night, in a session attended by only 64 MPs, a vote was held on the two presidential candidates, proposed the same night by the Vetëvendosje Movement: Feride Rushiti and Hatixhe Hoxha.

The LVV had requested three names for President from the PDK and LDK, as a "concrete and unifying" proposal for resolving this issue that is risking taking the country to elections again.

LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku has presented the name of Vjosa Osmani and asked Prime Minister Albin Kurti for a guarantee that 66 majority MPs would vote for him.

Kurti has not yet declared about this, while we are on the last day of the deadline for electing the President.

If a new President is not elected by midnight tonight, Kosovo will hold new elections within 45 days.
