Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that the opposition was able to propose someone of high profile, to gain sympathy from both the people and MPs.
He then accused the opposition of anger and resentment and said that they have not moved from last year's positions, while saying that their behavior is not the same as last year.
"This is not happening because unfortunately the year 2025 has ended in terms of the behavior of the opposition parties, but not in terms of their attitudes. Behaviors are not like years, but attitudes are. You know that in 2025 the opposition parties did not find joy in their successes, but only found satisfaction in their failures. The only way to be satisfied is if Vetëvendosje fails. This shows a negative essence in politics that consists of anger and resentment, a kind of urgency rather than work, ideas and passion. It would be in the interest of the political party to say I have a candidate."
