A week ago, Glauk Konjufca said that he is not an option for President, because the majority does not want to "support the opposition against the wall, saying 'this is it and this is what you should vote for.'" Today, it is being reported that Prime Minister Albin Kurti is considering nominating him for President.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti and LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku met today for the third time to discuss the issue of the President.

After the meeting in the Assembly, Kurti said that "we still don't have the solution."

At this meeting, it was reported that Kurti presented Abdixhiku with the idea of going to the Assembly tomorrow with Glauk Konjufca as a candidate for President. One media outlet even reported that Kurti had found a second candidate to meet the constitutional criteria, Sali Zyba, also from VV. Officially, the largest party has not made any announcement about this.

This was somewhat confirmed by a reaction from LDK MP Janina Ymeri, who spoke of "conditioning through blackmail, through threats." She said that Kurti is also using this method to elect the President.

A week ago, Minister of Foreign Affairs Glauk Konjufca said that his name had not been raised in the talks for the President.

He said that they were convinced that "there is no way, through a proposed name, a one-sided name, to get the guaranteed vote of the opposition to make it 80 votes". He said that the majority's conclusion was that "through a special name we should not support the opposition against the wall, by saying 'this is it and you should vote for this'".

"Am I an option? No, I think it hasn't been discussed, it hasn't been put forward in this context. If the majority had the approach of proposing a president of the Vetëvendosje Movement, I think that is exactly what I said at the beginning, and we want to avoid it. That is to fire the opposition before the act is done. This is not the goal of the majority this time. That is why we have acted in a different way. These are the coordinates in which we are acting," he said at a press conference on February 25.

Konjufca made this statement before Murat Jashari rejected his offer to become president.

LVV MP Mefail Bajqinovci said today that the opposition should participate in the vote for the President.

"The opposition should not block the process for electing the President. Opposition MPs should stay in the hall and participate in the vote for the President. Boycott is not a solution - participation and voting are constitutional obligations," he wrote in a Facebook post.
