Analyst Albert Krasniqi said that the declaration of assets of senior public officials is sufficiently revealing what a profitable sector politics is.
He made this statement after the latest reporting on the assets of public officials.
Krasniqi said that this picture shows that the state salary is very "beneficial".
"With one salary, you can live in luxury, buy property, and save without a problem. Meanwhile, with the same salary in other sectors, people can barely make ends meet. Then, as soon as you come to power, family love also increases. Suddenly you inherit two or three properties here, some assets there – even when your family members are not well known for any economic activity."
Ironically, Krasniqi says that these wealth declarations show that the parents of public officials were art collectors.
"The declarations also reveal an unknown cultural dimension: our parents, in difficult living conditions and raised under occupation, were great art collectors. In the midst of poverty, they managed to leave behind paintings worth millions - to the greed of even the greatest European barons!"
