Kosovo aims for medals at the Judo World Championships

Kosovo will aim for new medals at the World Judo Championships, which will be held in Budapest, Hungary, from June 13 to 20.

One of the biggest events of the year in the sport of judo is about to begin.

The World Senior Championships, an arena where the best judokas compete, hosts 557 judokas from 93 countries, representing 6 continents.

Kosovo, the country of Olympic medals, will be proudly represented by: Distria Krasniqi (-52kg), Laura Fazliu (-63kg) and Akil Gjakova (-73kg).

Distria Krasniqi will compete on Saturday, Akil Gjakova on Sunday, and Laura Fazliu will compete on Monday.

The Kosovar contestants will be under the leadership of master Driton Kuka and coaches Fatos Tabaku and Majlinda Kelmendi, the champion who is now building champions.
