The international judo spectacle, the Paris Grand Slam 2026, will take place on February 7 and 8 in the French capital, bringing together 499 competitors from 80 countries across 6 continents. The event is considered one of the most prestigious on the world judo calendar and offers important points for rankings and Olympic qualifications.
Kosovo will be represented by six elite judokas:

Distria Krasniqi (-52 kg)
Fatjona Kasapi (-52 kg)
Flaka Loxha (-57 kg)
Laura Fazliu (-63 kg)
Akil Gjakova (-73 kg)
The main focus is expected to be on Distria Krasniqi and Laura Fazliu, while the new generation will seek to leave their mark in a Grand Slam-level competition.
The Kosovo team will be led by Driton Kuka, the architect of the historic successes of Kosovar judo, along with coach Majlinda Kelmendi, combining the team's experience and winning mentality.
