KFOR has reacted to claims circulating on social media that "NATO has launched missiles from Camp Bondsteel or other NATO facilities in Kosovo towards Iran", describing them as untrue.
In a press release, the NATO military mission in Kosovo emphasizes that this claim is false and that NATO completely rejects such a thing. Secretary General Mark Rutte has made it clear that NATO as an organization is not involved in the current air campaign against the Iranian regime.
It also states that the United States continues to play a key role in supporting regional security and stability within the framework of the KFOR mission.
Currently, the US has about 600 troops deployed to KFOR and leads the Regional Command East (RC-East), which contributes to the mission's daily activities, including patrols, exercises, and cooperation with local communities.
The North Atlantic Alliance Peacekeeping Mission reiterates that it continues to fulfill its mandate to guarantee a safe and secure environment for all citizens in Kosovo, in accordance with the UN Security Council Resolution.
