The Kosovo Energy Corporation said that it has begun "the implementation of the regular annual 30-day overhaul of unit B2 at the Kosovo B Power Plant", investments in which it says are "in line with EU standards".
"This process is part of regular operational planning and aims to ensure technical maintenance, increase operational safety and guarantee the stable functioning of the unit," KEK said in a statement.
KEK says that "unit B1 of TC Kosova B has also undergone major modernization projects, including the construction of electrostatic precipitators and the DeNOx system, which began in April and are expected to be completed in early December."
"After the completion of these investments, it is expected that the safety of operations will be significantly increased, the lifespan of the unit will be extended for about 20 years and, above all, operation will be ensured in accordance with the highest European Union standards in the field of environmental protection," the announcement states.
