Political entities have only today's deadline to submit lists of candidates for deputies, with whom they will compete in the early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, which will be held on June 7, 2026.
CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi said that the 11-day deadline for political entities will end on Tuesday at midnight.
"Today, at 24:00, the 11-day deadline for political entities (political parties, coalitions, civic initiatives and independent candidates) to submit the list of names of candidates for deputies to be certified for participation in the early elections of June 7 ends. The submission of the list of names of candidates for deputies must be done through the electronic platform and the procedure is similar to the last elections held in December last year," said Elezi.
According to Elezit, the total number of potential political entities that will participate in the June 7 elections is 27, of which 22 political parties, 3 coalitions, 1 civic initiative and 1 independent candidate.
In the regular parliamentary elections of February 9, 2025, 28 political entities participated, of which 20 political parties, 5 coalitions, 2 civic initiatives and 1 independent candidate. The total number of candidates for deputies representing these political entities was 1,279.
Meanwhile, in the last parliamentary elections, those of December 28, the CEC certified 1,180 candidates for deputies, representing 24 political entities, of which 18 political parties, 3 coalitions, 2 civic initiatives and 1 independent candidate.
